Fall in love with the wide brown land.
Though we've spent little time here in the last five years, this is the country that raised us on a healthy diet of glorious sunshine, playing outdoors, and Vegemite sandwiches.
Though it’s terribly cliched, the longer we spend away, the luckier we feel to call this burnt land home. From the food and wine (Melbourne coffee, we miss you dearly) and thriving sports and culture scenes right through to the breathtaking landscapes and beautiful weather, growing up here has basically spoiled us for life.
No matter where our travels take us, Australia will always be home.
Beaches. BBQs. Beer: Any backpacker will tell you that these are the things that sum up Aus perfectly, and while they do make up a great portion of life in the 'Lucky Country', there's so much more to it than an endless summer party.
Let's start with the landscapes. Rugged and wild, from the scorching red deserts of the Outback to the picturesque turquoise coastlines, Australia is both extreme and stunningly beautiful.
There are the ancient rock formations of Uluru and the Kimberleys, thick forests that stretch from Far North Queensland to Tasmania, the technicolour of aquatic reefs. The rich spiritual stories and culture of our Indigenous traditional owners, the world's oldest civilisation, grew from these lands too.
Then, there are cosmopolitan cities with quirky laneways to explore, world-class food and wine scenes, epic road trip opportunities, and a laid-back, jovial culture that's totally infectious.
If you're all about the best things in life - the great outdoors, great weather, epic landscapes, and a bloody good meal - this is the place for you. Prepare to fall in love with the wide brown land.
